Mary's Promise

In 1998 Dennis was on site working on the new Fairbanks Community Food Bank building when his Pancreas burst. For the next several months Dennis was in and out of comas and surgeries, fighting for his life.

During this time, Mary never left his side, often looking over the medical charts picking up on any sign she could to help out, and her help was invaluable. As she would sit by his hospital bed she would also talk to him about their wonderful life together and during those conversations Mary made Dennis a promise.

Mary had never been fond of boats though Dennis dearly wanted one. To give him new hope she began to talk to him about the boat of his dreams and told him that when he was well enough, they could buy this beautiful boat. Shortly afterwords “Mary’s Promise” hit the open waters!

Since then, Mary’s Promise Too, and Mary’s Promise III have been daily reminders to Dennis of his wife’s incredible love & faithfulness to him.
